Meeting request not removed from Inbox after responding from Calendar

Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

  • User receives a meeting request in their Inbox.
  • User responds to the meeting request from the Calendar in either Outlook or Outlook on the web.

In this scenario, the meeting request isn't deleted from the Inbox of the user.

Cause
This behavior is by design.
Workaround
Respond to the meeting request from the Inbox.
