Access violation when you perform a cell writeback that invokes the LookupCube MDX function
Assume that you execute a cell writeback operation in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or SQL Server 2014, and the cell writeback executes a calculation that invokes the LookupCube function. In this situation, an access violation may occur.
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server:
- Cumulative Update 13 for SQL Server 2014
- Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
- Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 3 (SP3)
Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. We recommend that you download and install the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
Note You can find information about the latest SQL Server builds from Where to find information about the latest SQL Server builds.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
