Workaround
To work around this issue, select multiple email messages and then delete them at the same time. To do this, use one of the following methods:
  • Method 1: Hold the Shift key to select a group of consecutive email messages, and then delete them. The detailed steps are as follows:
    1. In Outlook 2013, open the folder that contains the email messages that you want to delete.
    2. Hold the Shift key, and then select the top message that you want to delete, and then click the bottom message that you want to delete. The operation selects the messages that you clicked and all the messages between them.
    3. Click Delete.
  • Method 2: Hold the CTRL key to select multiple nonconsecutive email messages, and then delete them. The detailed steps are as follows:
    1. In Outlook 2013, open the folder that contains the email messages that you want to delete.
    2. Hold the Ctrl key, and then select the individual messages that you want to delete.
    3. Click Delete.
