June 2016 servicing release for Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack
This article describes the contents of the June 2016 servicing release for Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack. This servicing release fixes the following issues:
- After you publish a new version of an application in a Connection Group, the application version is now displayed correctly on the App-V Server User Interface (UI).
- Fixes an issue that prevents some Java-based applications from starting.
- Adds support for Slovakian and Slovenian versions of the Supplemental Notice. The notice is displayed during the client/RDS servicing release installation.
- Removes the dependency on Visual C++ 2005 for installation.
- Fixes a Windows Explorer crash on a remote App-V 5.1 client when you are connected by using Remote Desktop Services. This issue occurs when you right-click File or Computer on the Start menu.
Hotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Note The downloadable file will have the form <Hotfix ID> _intl_i386_zip.exe and contains installers for both x86-based and x64-based architectures. See the names for the downloaded files under the "File Information" section.

PrerequisitesTo apply this hotfix for App-V 5.1, you must have the release version of App-V 5.1 installed or a subsequent App-V 5.1 servicing release installed.
Installation informationThis Hotfix includes update installers for APP-V 5.1 client, App-V 5.1 server, and Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
Restart informationYou must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
Replacement informationThis hotfix is the fourth hotfix for App-V 5.1.
