FIX: Unexpected exception occurs when deploying a package using SQL Server 2016 MDSModelDeploy tool

Symptoms
When you deploy a model deployment package by using the Microsoft SQL Server 2016 MDSModelDeploy tool, the deployment may fail and generate an exception because of a race condition.

This issue occurs because the MDSModelDeploy tool deploys the package in batches. This can sometimes cause a race condition to occur.
Resolution
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server: Recommendation: Install the latest cumulative update for SQL Server
Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. We recommend that you download and install the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
