"HCW8093" or "HCW8062" error when you run the Hybrid Configuration Wizard

Note The Hybrid Configuration Wizard that's included in the Exchange Management Console in Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 is no longer supported. Therefore, you should no longer use the old Hybrid Configuration Wizard. Instead, use the Office 365 Hybrid Configuration Wizard that's available at http://aka.ms/HybridWizard. For more information, see Office 365 Hybrid Configuration Wizard for Exchange 2010.
PROBLEM
When you run the Hybrid Configuration Wizard, you receive one of the following error messages:

HCW8093 = Intra-Organization configuration not found in the on-premises Exchange environment.

HCW8062 = Exchange OAuth authentication couldn't find the authorization certificate with thumbprint {0} in your on-premises organization. Run Get-AuthConfig cmdlet to verify the CurrentCertificateThumbprint information.
CAUSE
A configuration object is missing from your on-premises environment. This is preventing the wizard from completing the OAuth configuration.
SOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Install the latest cumulative update for the version of Exchange Server that you're running. For more information, see the following resources:
  2. Run the Hybrid Configuration Wizard again from http://aka.ms/HybridWizard.
  3. If the issue persists, manually configure OAuth authentication. For more information about how to do this, see Configure OAuth authentication between Exchange and Exchange Online organizations
