When you are running complex Lightweight Data Access Protocol (LDAP) queries against Active Directory, a domain controller may stop responding (hang) with stack-overflow exception c00000fd. The entry in the Drwtsn32.log file starts like this:
Application exception occurred:
App: lsass.exe (pid=280)
When: 11.03.2002 @ 15:05:05.222
Exception number: c00000fd (stack overflow)
This problem may occur if the query contains many terms with the OR operator. The terms specify an indexed attribute that is equal to a specific value. The problem may occur if there are more than 750 of these terms.
