In Exchange 2000 Server, if you sort items (Group by, Order by) that use Japanese Hiragana characters, full-width Katakana characters, or half-width Katakana characters, the results may be displayed incorrectly in the Exchange 2000 Installable File System (IFS).
NOTE: Exchange 2000 Server displays all of the items correctly, including Japanese Hiragana characters,full-width Katakana characters, and half-width Katakana characters, when the items are not sorted.
This problem occurs because Exchange 2000 Server sorts Japanese Kana type (Hiragana or Katakana) and width type (single-byte character set [SBCS] or double-byte character set [DBCS]) incorrectly in Exchange 2000 IFS.
