XADM: The Information Store Stops Responding During an Online Backup If Database Zeroing Is Turned On

SYMPTOMS
When you try to make an online backup (for example, an Exchange 2000-aware backup) of an Exchange 2000 information store, the Exchange 2000 information store service may stop unexpectedly. This problem occurs if the Zero out deleted database pages option for the storage group is selected.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in theMicrosoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 3.
