EMF Print Jobs That Contain Type 1 Fonts May Not Print

When a client prints a document that contains Type 1 Fonts, the font may be missing from the print job. The problem occurs when the Enable advanced printing features check box is selected, and the print server does not have the font installed.
When a font that is made up of two or more files (like an Adobe Type 1) is read from the spool file, the section pointer and base address are only set on the first file. The original code expected these values to be set on each font file.

To work around this problem, click to clear the Enable advanced printing features check box on the client. This renders the print job on the client side, and then sends the print job in "RAW" format.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
