Outlook Express may stop working after receiving a "Mailbox full" message

If you use Outlook Express 6 as an e-mail client with an IMAP mail server, Outlook Express may stop working randomly when the mailbox on the server becomes full. You may receive messages that warn you that your mailbox is full, or you may receive any of the following error messages:

Your IMAP server wishes to alert you to the following: (100) Yourmailbox is full. Delete messages you no longer require
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
