When you print a Word document with a page printer that has the PostScript n-up processing feature (that is, the ability to print n pages per sheet) after you specify a number, the printer does not print with the n-up setting that you specify in Word. Instead, the printer uses the default setting in the printer's properties.
For example, if you use a PostScript printer, such as the Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet 5000 Series PS, that uses the PostScript driver that is included with Microsoft Windows XP (that is, Pscript5.dll version 0.3.1282.1), and you set the Pages Per Sheet option to 2, Word ignores the custom setting and prints each page on a separate sheet, which is the default setting for this printer.
