You receive a "The file cannot be found" error message when you try to select a field in Project 2002

After you change the Predecessors field in a project plan, the double-byte character set (DBCS) task ID automatically changes to a single-byte character set (SBCS) task ID, and then you receive the following error message:
The file cannot be found, Verify that the name and path are correct, and then try again.

Service Pack Information

This problem is corrected in Project 2002 Service Pack 1.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
