SUMMARY
PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) is an event-orientedmethod of controlling large- and small-scale projects. "Event-oriented" means that events are represented as nodes or boxes, definedand connected to show relationships. In the following theoretical PERTchart, the lines represent the dependencies between each event:
********* ********** Event *----------* Event *------------------------\ * 10 * * 20 * \ ********* ********* \ \ ********* \ * Event * \ * 50 * \ ********* ********* ********* | * Event *---------------------* Event *-------| * 40 * * 30 * ********* *********
Microsoft Project has the capability to display PERT Charts for tasks.Additional entries may be created by dragging nodes into an open space orby click Insert on the Edit menu and entering the correct information inthe fields within the new node.
