Cross linked projects experience continuous calculation in Microsoft Project 2002

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
When you use Microsoft Project to create cross project links (dependencies) between several existing projects, and then you save one of the projects to a baseline, you may experience continuous recalculation of all the linked projects. Additionally, when the continuous recalculation is occurring, you experience the following issues:
  • The Microsoft Project program window flickers on your screen.
  • There is an increase of CPU usage by the Winproj.exe file in Microsoft Project.
