"Stop error code 0x0000001E" occurs when you close a program window

Symptoms
When you close a program window, you may receive the following Stop error message:
Stop 0x0000001E (0xC0000005, 0xA001D22B, 0x00000000, 0x00000023)
For example, you may receive this Stop error message when you close a program window to exit the program.
Resolution

Service pack information

Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
