Hotfix Packages Do Not Include Debug Symbol Files

Hotfix packages that you obtain from Microsoft Product Support Services do not contain symbol files.
To decrease the download time for hotfix packages, the symbol files that were previously available in the hotfix packages have been removed.
Symbols for all hotfix packages are available from the Microsoft Symbol server. For additional information about how to obtain symbol debugging information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Symbol files provide a footprint of the functions that are contained in program files and dynamic-link libraries (DLLs). You may need symbol information when you debug programs with various Microsoft tools.
