"An Exception Occurred" Error Message When You Use Microsoft Active Accessibility to Close the "Display Properties" Dialog Box
When you create a custom program that uses Microsoft Active Accessibility to retrieve information from the Settings tab of the Display Properties dialog box and then to close the dialog box, you may receive the following RUNDLL error message:
An exception occurred while trying to run "shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL C:\Winnt\System32\desk.cpl"
Stop Error May Occur When NtGdiPolyPolyDraw Is Not Processed Correctly
In certain situations, when the NtGdiPolyPolyDraw function does not correctly initialize ulCount, the computer may stop responding (crash), and you may receive a Stop error message on a blue screen.
