STOP 0x1E in Win32k.sys Error May Occur in Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional

SYMPTOMS
When you run Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional, you may receive the following error message:
STOP 0x0000001E (c00000005, 000000000, 000000000, 000000000)
Note The last three sets of numbers in the error message may vary.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if the Win32k.sys Windows file conflicts with a device driver that is installed on your computer.
RESOLUTION

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. STATUS
