When you install Microsoft Works Suite 2003, you may receive the following error message:

Setup has detected other programs running which may interfere with installation.
Setup has found the following programs open on your computer. Before you continue installing Microsoft Works Suite 2004, close the open programs.
This issue occurs because other programs are still running in the background on the computer.

Method 1: Quit all programsTo resolve this issue, quit all programs that are open during installation. To do so, follow these steps:
Method 2: End task on all programs that are running in the backgroundOther programs may be running in the background and do not have an icon on the taskbar or in the notification area. To quit these programs, you must use the Task Manager to end each task.
