On a heavily loaded server that is running Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3), the computer may stop responding and you may receive the following Stop error message:
STOP 0x0000001E (0xC0000005, 0xA001199F, 0x00000000, 0xA0C89369)
This problem may occur if Explorer.exe stops responding (crashes) and the shell window is corrupted during a call to the xxxLoadDesktopWallpaper() function. When this problem occurs, the spwndShell attribute has a value of NULL, but the pwndShell attribute retains its previous value.
Hotfix InformationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
