Symptoms
When you try to log off from a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, the Winlogon.exe process may stop responding, and you may not be able to log off from the computer. When this problem occurs, you do not receive an error message.
Cause
This problem may occur if multiple instances of the Input Method Editor (IME) process (Conime.exe) are running at the same time.
Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
