You install Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 on the same computer with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, or with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010. Then, you install an add-in in PowerPoint 2002. When you do this, the add-in is also available to PowerPoint 2003, to PowerPoint 2007, and to PowerPoint 2010.

The reverse is also true. When you install an add-in in PowerPoint 2003, Powerpoint 2007 or in PowerPoint 2010, the add-in is also available to PowerPoint 2002.
More information
This behavior occurs because PowerPoint 2002, PowerPoint 2003, PowerPoint 2007, and PowerPoint 2010 share a common Add-ins folder. The location of the common Add-ins folder is as follows:
In Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\AddIns

In Windows Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns
