When you use Outlook 2000 to compose and send an e-mail message, the e-mail message may be sent to the wrong recipient if the following conditions are true:
- You composed the e-mail message while you were working offline.
- The offline address book (OAB) was updated before you sent the new e-mail message
For example, you create a new e-mail message, address it, and then save it in the Drafts folder so that you can finish it later. Several hours go by, you receive and download a new OAB, and then you send the e-mail message that you drafted earlier while you are working online. In this example, the recipient that you selected from the old OAB may be replaced with a new recipient from the new OAB. Because a new recipient is used, the e-mail message is sent to the wrong recipient.
This problem occurs when you download a new OAB between the time that you address the new e-mail message and the time that you send the new e-mail message.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

The global version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone
tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
