FIX: You receive a “C2352 illegal call of non-static member function” compiler error message when you compile a template declaration in Visual Studio .NET 2003

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
When you compile a template declaration, you receive a compiler error message that is similar to the following:
error C2352: 'PBaseArray<T>::GetClass' : illegal call of non-static member function
The compiler error message occurs in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003.

If you compile the same code in Visual Studio .NET 2002, you do not receive the compiler error message.

When you run the following code sample, you compile a template declaration, and you receive the previous error message.
template <class T>struct A {  virtual void f() {}};struct C {  typedef A<int> A_int;  struct E: A_int {    virtual void f() {      A_int::f();  // error C2352: 'A<T>::f' : illegal call of non-static member function    }  };};
