If you run an Insert .. Select command against an XML document that is accessed through OPENXML, and the XML document has a value for a column with a SQL_VARIANT data type, the following errors are reported when either a DBCC CHECKDB or a DBCC CHECKTABLE statement is run on the effected table:
Server: Msg 2537, Level 16, State 43, Line 1 Table error: Object ID 530152984, index ID 0, page (1:957), row 1. Record check (innerLength <= innerColInfo.CbMaxLen () && innerPCol != NULL) failed. Values are 8 and 0. Server: Msg 2537, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Table error: Object ID 530152984, index ID 0, page (1:957), row 1. Record check (Valid SqlVariant) failed. Values are 5 and 0.
To work around the problem and correct the 2537 errors reported by the DBCC CHECKDB or the DBCC CHECKTABLE statements, you can either:
Delete the problem row.
Update the Sql_variant data type column with the same value.
