FIX: "Object Reference Not Set to an Instance of an Object" Error While Rolling Back a Transaction

Symptoms
When you use the Microsoft ODBC .NET Managed Provider, and an intermittent network problem causes a loss of connection to your database server while you are trying to rollback the transaction, you may receive the following error message:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Resolution
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
