Database properties are lost after you save Database Model Diagram (US Units) drawing in Visio 2007 or in Visio 2003

Support for Office 2003 has ended

Microsoft ended support for Office 2003 on April 8, 2014. This change has affected your software updates and security options. Learn what this means for you and how to stay protected.

In Microsoft Visio 2007 or in Microsoft Visio 2003, when you try to view the properties of an entity or object in your saved Database Model Diagram (US Units) drawing, no properties show in the Database Properties window.

Note If the Database Properties window does not show, right-click an entity or object in your drawing, and then click Database Properties.
This problem may occur if Design Mode is turned on when you insert an ActiveX Control (for example, a Microsoft Forms 2.0 CommandButton).

Note To insert an ActiveX Control, click Control on the Insert menu.
To work around this problem, turn off Design Mode before you save your Database Model Diagram (US Units) drawing. To turn off Design Mode, click the Design Mode button on the Developer toolbar.

Note To show the Developer toolbar, point to Toolbars on the View menu, and then click Developer.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
