SYMPTOMS
When you try to print from Outlook 2003, you may receive the following error message:
No printers are installed. To install a printer, point to Settings on the Windows Start Menu, click Printers and then double-click Add Printer. Follow the instructions in the wizard.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur if either of the following conditions exists:
  • You do not have a default printer installed.
  • Outlook cannot locate your printer.
Note If you are running Outlook from a remote server (Microsoft Windows NT Terminal Server Edition), you may have to contact your network administrator. See the article that is listed in the "Reference" section of this article for more information.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, use one of the following methods:

If You Do Not Have a Printer Installed

If you do not have a printer installed, use the Add Printer Wizard to install a printer. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Double-click Add Printer, and then follow the Add Printer Wizard instructions.
Note Some printers have their own setup routines that bypass the Add Printer Wizard. If this behavior occurs, follow the instructions in the documentation that came with your printer.

If you are using Outlook from a Windows Terminal Server, you may not have the required administrator permissions to add a printer.
