Stop Error Does Not Generate Memory Dump File on Windows 2000-Based Computers

SYMPTOMS
When Microsoft Windows 2000 generates a Stop error that typically creates a memory dump file listing, you instead receive the following error message:
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen,restart your computer. If this screen appears again, followthese steps:

Refer to your "Getting Started" manual for more information about troubleshooting Stop errors.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if your computer has more than 4 gigabytes (GB) of physical RAM installed. When it processes the Stop error, the computer may time out while trying to complete the memory dump file listing of the kernel memory contents.
RESOLUTION

Hotfix Information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
