Add a Printer Wizard stops responding when you try to install a network printer

When you try to install a network printer on your Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, the Add a Printer Wizard stops responding.
This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
- You have a firewall that separates your Active Directory directory service root domain from a child domain.
- The network printer exists on the child domain.
- The Windows XP-based computer exists on the child domain.
- The port that is used by Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is closed on your firewall.
