Print jobs from Macintosh client computers to a Windows 2000 Service Pack 4-based print server do not print

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
When you print a document from an Apple Macintosh client computer, the print job does not print. This problem occurs after you apply Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) to a Microsoft Windows 2000-based print server that is running Print Services for Macintosh. Additionally, you may experience both of the following symptoms:
  • The print server appears to receive the print job. However, the print job is deleted.
  • An error message that is similar to the following is logged to the application event log every time that you print a document from a Macintosh client computer:

    Type: Error
    Source: MacPrint
    Category: TrueImage Print Processor
    Event ID: 4000
The TrueImage Interpreter initialization failed. (Document Name: DocumentName)
    Processing continued.

You do not experience these symptoms when you print a document from a Windows-based client computer.
