SNMP uses 100 percent of the processor time in Windows 2000

The Simple Network Management Protocol (Snmp.exe) process may use 100 percent of the processor time. This behavior may reduce the performance of Microsoft Windows 2000 and of other programs.
This behavior occurs when the NtWaitForMultipleObjects() function returns an error and causes the Snmp.exe process to consume 100 percent of the processor time.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
