FIX: Permissions are not set correctly if your server that is running MCMS is not a domain member

If your server that is running Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 is not a member of a domain but is in a workgroup, the site deployment objects are not assigned the correct permissions.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

This scenario is common when the server is outside the internal firewall but is inside the external firewall in the perimeter network (also known as the demilitarized zone [DMZ] or the screened subnet).
