The Print dialog box requires 60 seconds to display when you print from an application on a client computer that is running Windows 2000

This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
You open an application, such as Microsoft Word, on a client computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000. After you do this, you try to print from the application to a printer that is connected to a Novell print server. However, when you click Print in the application, the Print dialog box requires 60 seconds to display.

This problem occurs when the length of the printer name together with the length of the server name (\\ServerName\PrinterName) is more than 31 characters.
