You receive a "Stop 0x000000D1" error message in the Netbt.sys driver on your Windows 2000-based computer

Your Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer unexpectedly crashes, and you receive a stop error message that is similar to the following on a blue screen:
Stop 0x000000D1 (00009789 00000002 00000001 bf7eef09)
This problem is caused by a timing error in the NetBIOS over TCP/IP driver, Netbt.sys.
Hotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
