Security log entries for event ID 534 lack User Name and Domain details in Windows XP

After you turn on auditing of logon and logoff events, the security log on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer may have multiple entries for event ID 534 that do not have the User Name and Domain sections filled in. These entries may look similar to the following log entry:
Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: Security Event
Category: Logon/Logoff
Event ID: 534
Date: date
Time: time
Computer: -
Description: Logon Failure:
Reason: The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this machine.
User Name:
These entries are associated with unsuccessful logons by users who are running Microsoft Windows XP on their computers.

Hotfix information

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
