Setting the appt.ResponseText property does not modify the urn:schemas:httpmail:textdescription field in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, set the appt.TextBody property instead of the appt.ResponseText property in the CDO code to respond to a meeting request.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
