Change default Base Period to C when opening a catalog in FRx

SYMPTOMS

Change default Base Period to C occurs when attempting to open any Catalog entry in FRx. C is not an option for the Base Period and you can only change the Base Period to CUR.

RESOLUTION

The error can be caused by the following reasons:

1. This error will occur if you do not have the current fiscal year setup in Microsoft Dynamics GP or in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains as determined by your System Date. To correct this error, in Microsoft Dynamics GP or in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains, navigate to Setup | Company | Fiscal Periods and create the fiscal year for your current system date.

2. It can also occur when a new year starts or any other date change. In this case the .g32 file will need to be recreated.

Rename the .g32 file associated for that company. To do this browse to the shared sysdata folder. Make sure there are no users in that company in FRx. Rename the .g32 file and launch back in.
