On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, after you enable the AutoComplete feature in Microsoft Internet Explorer, the AutoComplete feature does not work. In this scenario, AutoComplete does not fill in the rest of a Web site address that you start to type or it does not automatically fill in user name or password information that you have previously entered.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider
On the File menu, click Export.
Locate a folder to save this registry subkey in, type savedProtectedStorage in the File name box, and then click Save.
Note If you have to restore the
Protected Storage System Provider
registry subkey after you change it, you can do so by double-clicking the savedProtectedStorage.reg file that you saved in this step.
Expand Protected Storage System Provider, and then click the user subkey folder that is directly under Protected Storage System Provider. This user subkey appears similar to the following:
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click Yes on the following message that appears:
Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?
Note More than one of these user subkeys may appear under Protected Storage System Provider. One of these user subkeys appears for every identity that you have. Therefore, to resolve this issue for all your identities, remove all the user subkey folders under Protected Storage System Provider.
Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer.
To view the AutoComplete settings in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Content tab, and then click AutoComplete.
