On your Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)-based computer, a program that calls the DhcpRequestParams function with the DHCPCAPI_REQUEST_PERSISTENT flag set may not work correctly.
The DhcpRequestParams function may return error code 87, and you may receive the following error message:
The parameter is incorrect.
This problem occurs because in Windows XP SP2, the DhcpRequestParams function does not work correctly for persistent requests when either of the following conditions is true:
