Microsoft has released security bulletin MS06-054. The security bulletin contains all the relevant information about the security update for Microsoft Publisher 2000. After you install this update, you cannot open Microsoft Publisher 2.0 publications in Publisher 2000. If you try to open a Publisher 2.0 publication in Publisher 2000, you receive the following error message:
Publisher cannot open this file. This file was saved from a previous version of Publisher. Publisher no longer supports files that were saved in this version.

After you install this update, you cannot copy and paste content between separate instances of Publisher 2000. If you copy content from one instance of Publisher 2000 and then switch to a separate instance of Publisher 2000, the Paste command will be unavailable (dimmed) as if there is nothing on the clipboard.
After you install this update, you cannot remove the update. To revert to an earlier installation of Publisher 2000, remove Publisher 2000. Then, reinstall Publisher 2000 by using the original CD.
