You manually change the NoDriveTypeAutoRun subkey value by using Registry Editor.
You add the computer to an Active Directory domain.
The NoDriveTypeAutoRun subkey value is reset to one of the following original default values:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Windows 2000
To work around this issue, cancel the Turn off Autoplay policy setting selection in the Active Directory domain environment as follows:
Click Start, click Run, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.
Expand User Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, and then expand System.
Double-click the Turn off Autoplay policy.
Select Disabled, click Apply, and then click OK.
Note In Windows 2000, the policy setting is named Disable Autoplay.

The Turn off Autoplay policy setting is based on the following registry key and value pair.
