LG has released the Media Center computer that is based on Windows XP Media Center Edition. The Media Center computer includes an internal infrared receiver. This article describes an update that adds the vendor ID (VID) and the product ID (PID) for the internal infrared receiver. This update enables Windows XP Media Center Edition to recognize the internal infrared receiver. Additionally, the internal infrared receiver will be enumerated in Device Manager.
Update informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
