Microsoft has released the updated USB Video Class (UVC) driver for Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2). The updated driver adds the following capabilities:
- Digital video (DV) data rendering to let you stream DV data from the host computer to the device
- MPEG2TS capture to let you stream USB Isochronous MPEG2 transport streams from the device to the host computer
The following issue is also fixed by this driver update:
- You receive a "STOP 0x000000D1" error message in Usbvideo.sys on a Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)-based computer
On a Windows XP SP2-based computer, you try to operate a USB webcam that is compliant with the USB Video Class and that supports Still Image Capture Method 2. When you do this, you may receive a Stop error message that resembles the following:
*** STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x0000004C, 0x00000002 , 0x00000000, 0xA8E0CD93)Note The parameters in this error message may vary, depending on the cause of the Stop error.
*** usbvideo.sys – Address A8E0CD93 base at A8E00000
This issue may occur when you use My Computer to open the video steam of a webcam that supports Still Image Capture Method 2 after another application already opened the video stream. For example, AMCap or MSN Messenger already opened the video stream.
