Memory corruption or an access violation may occur in a custom application that uses the PrivateFontCollection object in Windows XP
This article has been archived. It is offered "as is" and will no longer be updated.
In Microsoft Windows XP, memory corruption or an access violation may occur in a custom application that uses the PrivateFontCollection object in the Gdiplus.dll file.
This problem may occur when a PrivateFontCollection object is deleted, and an application has outstanding references to the GpFontFamily items in that object. During the deletion of the PrivateFontCollection object, no check is made that any GpFontFamily classes are being used. Therefore, the classes are implicitly deleted. If the application subsequently tries to delete or to access the outstanding GpFontFamily references, memory corruption or an access violation may occur.
