SYMPTOMS
When you configure the TV signal by using a set-top box in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, an S-Video input option is available on the Select a Working TV Signal page. The S-Video input option is available even though your TV tuner does not have an S-video connection.

Additionally, you receive the following error message after you select the correct input option on the Select a Working TV Signal page:
Tuner not found
These symptoms occur if you previously selected the incorrect input option on the Select a Working TV Signal page.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Close the error message, click Back two times, and then click Next.
  2. After Windows XP Media Center Edition detects the tuner signal, click the correct input option on the Select a Working TV Signal page.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
