INTRODUCTION
This article describes the Outlook 2002 issue that is fixed in the Outlook 2002 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated August 30, 2005.

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • In Outlook 2002, when you open a forwarded e-mail message that contains an attachment, you cannot see the attachment. This issue may occur when the following conditions are true:
    • The e-mail message is in the HTML message format.
    • The e-mail message contains embedded images.
    Note This issue may also occur when you save an e-mail message that contains embedded images and an attachment as a draft message in the Drafts folder.

Prerequisites

  • The optimized version and the full-file version of this hotfix is a post-Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Office XP SP3 installed.

  • The optimized version of this hotfix requires Microsoft Windows Installer version 2.0 or a later version.
