After you enable a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) account, the SIP account cannot log on to a Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 server. Additionally, the SIP user may receive the following error message:
Signing in to SIP Communications Service failed because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist
This behavior occurs even if the SIP account is enabled on the Live Communications Server 2005 server.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type dcomcnfg, and then click OK.
Expand Component Services, expand Computers, expand My Computer, expand DCOM Config, and then expand RTC Store Access Interface Class.
Right-click RTC Store Access Interface Class, and then click Properties.
Click the Security tab.
Under Access Permissions, click Edit.
Add the following groups to the Group and user names list:
RTC Local Administrators
RTC Local User Administrators
RTC Server Local Group
Restart the Live Communications Server service.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
