When you build a project that generates lots of text in the Output window in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, the IDE stops responding (hangs).
Note This problem is more likely to occur when you select certain project options that generate lots of text in the Output window. For example, this problem is more likely to occur when you select Enable Code Analysis for C/C++.
This problem occurs because the Visual Studio 2005 code reads past the end of a string buffer. This causes an access violation in the Msenv.dll file.
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
